Who is responsible
The data controller (and, under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the data fiduciary) is Equal Education For Everyone (E2FE), Rani kothi, Williams town, Deoghar, Jharkhand 814112, India. Contact: support@e2fe.com, +91 92963 32050.
We currently operate from India. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, we still apply the standards in this policy for your data, including the GDPR rights listed below.
Personal data we collect
- Identity and contact: name, email, mobile, board, class, and (where given) parent or guardian details.
- Account and security: login, one-time passwords, hashed passwords, IP address and device data needed to keep the session safe.
- Academic and commercial: courses, bundles, orders, invoices, attendance or practice-test activity, support messages.
- Payment metadata processed by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers on E2FE servers).
- Marketing choices: whether you opted in to promotional email, SMS or WhatsApp, and when.
- Cookies and similar storage as described in the Cookie Policy.
- Approximate country from your IP (via the hosting network) so we can show catalogue prices in a local currency. You can change the currency in the header. This is not used for advertising.
Why we use data (lawful bases)
We only process personal data when a lawful basis applies:
- Contract — to create your account, deliver courses, take payment, send service messages (enrolment, class, invoice, password or OTP).
- Legitimate interests — to keep the platform secure, prevent fraud, improve the product, and answer support queries, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation — tax, accounting, and other records we must keep under Indian law.
- Consent — promotional emails, SMS, WhatsApp, optional analytics/marketing cookies, and any use of a child’s data that requires a parent or guardian. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting services that do not depend on it.
Signing in or buying a course is not made conditional on marketing consent. Promotional messages are a separate, optional tick box.
Children and students
Our programmes are for school students (typically Grades 8–12). Where the law treats a student as a child, a parent or guardian should complete registration and marketing choices. We do not knowingly use children’s data for profiling or third-party advertising.
Sharing and processors
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with:
- Hosting and database providers that store the website and student records.
- Zoho CPaaS (transactional email from em.e2fe.com) and any SMS/WhatsApp provider we connect.
- Razorpay (or another payment gateway) to take fees.
- Authorities when Indian or other applicable law requires disclosure.
Those providers act on our instructions. If we later use advertising platforms, those tags will load only after cookie consent.
International transfers
E2FE is established in India. Data may be processed in India and in other countries where our providers operate (for example email sending in Australia). Where GDPR applies, we rely on the provider’s appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) plus the measures in this policy.
Retention
We keep account, order and tax records for as long as the relationship lasts and then for the period Indian tax and education records require. Marketing consent records are kept while the consent is valid and for a short period afterwards to show we respected your choice. You can ask us to delete data that we no longer need — see Your data rights.
Security
We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, signed session cookies, role-based staff access, and origin checks on form APIs. No method is perfect; please use a strong password and do not share OTPs.
Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR and DPDP)
Depending on where you live, you may ask us to:
- Access a copy of your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Erase data we no longer need (right to be forgotten), subject to legal retention.
- Restrict or object to certain processing, including marketing.
- Receive data you provided in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in the EU, your local DPA; in India, the Data Protection Board of India once operational).
Use the data rights form or email support@e2fe.com. We may need to verify it is you (or the parent/guardian) before we act. We aim to respond within one month where GDPR applies.
Cookies
Necessary cookies keep you signed in. Analytics and marketing cookies are off until you choose them in the banner or on the Cookie Policy page. You can change this at any time from the footer link “Cookie settings”.
Updates
We will post material changes on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after an update means the new notice applies to later processing; we will ask for a fresh tick where the law requires new consent.
